Had another panaromic breakfast at the Eco Music Hotel and went to the bus station for our 24 hour bus ride to San Pedro de Atacama. With so many thousands of stray dogs around you really have to watch where you walk cause there is dogs hit everywhere. Yesterday taking another epic photo, I had to step back to capture my award winning photograph. I stepped into a fresh pile of shit, much to the laughter off a few people watching me.
We had a real nice bus for a change for the long journey north ,1350 km. Arrived in Calama and then caught another bus at 1:30 pm for the two hour drive to San Pedro de Atacama. Walked through town for twenty minutes to our room which was actually not to bad , had a great view ,was clean and had a nice veranda with a table and chair where I could enjoy a litre of beer at the end of the day.
The reason for coming here was to head to Salar de Uyuni, which is in Bolivia and have to do a three day tour to get there.so I decided to stay for two days cause didn't have time to book a tour for the next day. Found a tour agency, Green and White and booked our three day tour for $166 with two nights accommodation and all meals and transportation to Uyuni.
The following day I did a 3km bike ride to Lunar de Moon Park all on gravel roads. Had a banana and 750ml of water, for once I was well prepared, except for my legs which were instrumental to the trip. Was some incredible scenery along the way and coming back my legs were in serious pain, the banana didn't even help ! It was 35 degrees Celsius and u wish I could have had a little more water, well actually a lot more water cause it was bloody hot.
Charmain has cut down my beer intake, she thinks I am becoming an alcoholic and I can only have two beers a night now ! How can you become an alcoholic on beer ? My neighbor Bob loves beer and has a beer every day at noon and a couple more and then a few at dinner and he's no alcoholic, but am cause I have a litre a day to hydrate not because I love beer.
Wat kan 'n man dan doen.
After having my two beers we walked around town which is quaint with all dirt streets and all the tourists there are either returning or heading to Uyuni and mostly the young backpacker crowd. Retired back to our room for an early start tomorrow to the Salar de Uyuni tour.

VALPARAISO'S VIBRANT, VIVID COLOURS. 14 - 18 February 2018
Arrived in Valparaiso at 11:30 am and left the main bus station and walked to Argentina Avenue for a local bus to our hotel. I got on the bus and Charmain was about to enter and I saw a guy grab her, and she let out a blood curdling scream, he ripped her chains off her neck and bolted. I ran out the bus and he crossed the busy street and was gone. The bus station attendant called the police and asked us to wait which we did and the cleaning lady helped Charmain and pit a plaster on her neck. After thirty minutes the attendant apologized and said we might as well leave cause the police may not show up.
Found our hotel up on the hill with a great panoramic view of Valparaiso. Could only check in at 4 pm so we walked the hills and enjoyed all the street art which it's famous for. Four days here is probably one day to much but they have great restaurants and and cafés.
